Konadu’s Political Crash…
-And Dr. Mamboa, Saint Osei, Dr. Ofei & Alh. Nasiru too
The Akans say; “Onipa ye adea osa ayeyi,” and it is also said that “the stone the builders rejected shall become the cornerstone of the house”. Hate him or love him, the NDC must be applauding Mr. Kofi Adams, spokesperson to the Rawlingses for his principled stance against his boss, Nana Konadu Agyeman. As special aide and spokesperson of the Rawlingses, Mr. Kofi Adams, also a former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC has been very consistence in his defence and promoting of the Rawlingses agenda ever since he assumed his present position.
His indisputable but sometimes blind loyalty to the Rawlingses almost led him being kicked out of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) when he was caught in a recorded conversation with Nana Akufo Addo’s nephew, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, plotting NDC’s defeat in this year’s polls.
Mr. Kofi Adams has been on suspension after the leaked tape in which he was heard saying he will do everything possible to prevent President Mills and the NDC from securing the mandate of Ghanaians for a second term. He pleaded innocent.
Though iced by the NDC, Mr. Adams’ commitment and loyalty to the Rawlingses, even in the face of all the odds remained unwavering.
So therefore when Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, together with some Rawlings' loyalists and other dissatisfied members of the NDC finally decided to lead the newly-formed National Democratic Party (NDP) into the 2012 elections to derail the NDC’s chances, many expected to see Mr. Kofi Adams play key roles. However, that was never to be. Immediately after her acclamation as flag bearer of the NDP in Kumasi, Konadu’s spokesperson, Mr. Adams, to the astonishment of many political watchers, publicly revealed he will not vote for her in the upcoming December polls.
Mr. Adams told Citi Fm’s Bernard Avle that though he represents the interests of the former first family, his allegiance still lies with President Mahama and the NDC.
“President Mahama is my candidate; I will vote President Mahama... I have not left the NDC. The NDC has a flagbearer and that is where my vote will go,” he told Bernard Avle.
According to Mr. Adams “I have continued to defend the NDC and will do so to the heavens and that I remain to the NDC... My heart is still with the NDC…” Nana Konadu last Thursday October 18th had her presidential ambition crushed when her NDP failed to fully satisfy the Electoral Commissions’ requirements. As an experienced immediate past national executive member of the ruling NDC, who was directly involved in the campaign strategies of the party, Mr. Kofi Adams could have made all the difference, and Konadu would have succeeded in becoming a presidential candidate in this year’s polls, thereby, enable her achieved her wicked desire of making the NDC a one term government, if he so wanted.
But, Mr. Adams, in spite of all the forceful temptations and expediency, and also, to demonstrate his allegiance and commitment to the NDC cause, single handedly rather, wrecked Konadu’s evil plans to deny the NDC victory in the December polls.
It is in the light of this that, The Al-Hajj will like to take this opportunity to call on all sympathizers and lovers of the NDC to salute Mr. Kofi Adam for such a yeoman’s job.
We further call on the National Executive Committee of the NDC to as a matter of urgency reconsider Mr. Adams’ suspension in the spirit of reconciliation and forgiveness.
The Al-Hajj also wants the following acknowledged; Dr. Rockson Mamboa, Mr. Emmanuel Saint Osei, Dr. Ofei Agyeman & Alhaji Mohamed Nasiru for exhibiting absolute gallantry when they decided to abandon Nana Konadu’s ‘evil’ ship, and to rally to the defense of President John Mahama and the great NDC. We say to all of you guys: Ayekooooo!
