Spokesperson to Former President Rawlings, Kofi Adams, says he is not aware he is being considered for a ministerial appointment by President Mahama as claimed by the Chronicle Newspaper.

The paper purports President Mahama intends consolidating his fledgling relationship with the ruling party’s Founder Jerry Rawlings by placating him with a ministerial reward for his Spokesperson.

But Kofi Adams told Breakfast XYZ the party and the media must stop rail-roading the President.

He said “I truly do not like these types of speculations. I have not had any discussions with His Excellency. Neither has anybody mentioned any such thing to me.”

He said President Mahama has a large pool of human resources from which to choose his government officials and therefore he should not be forced into making pronouncement that might make the president’s job difficult.

“Lobbyists and those who are speculating should leave His Excellency to focus on the job. It’s premature. Luckily it’s the same party that is government continuing so things will not be very difficult,” he said.

Mr. Kofi Adams stated that: “I am already helping the [president] because first and foremost, I am a member of the party and I want to see him succeed so that the party can continue to implement its good programmes.”

In another development, Kofi Adams has accused the leadership of the main opposition NPP of peddling falsehood to its supporters with a claim that Friday’s poll results were rigged in favour of President Mahama.

He says the party leadership must be held responsible for the riotous behavior of its supporters in the aftermath of the elections.
