Kofi Asante-Asianowa Passes Away

Newark, NJ -- The death is reported in Newark, New Jersey, USA of Kofi Asante-Asianowa aka "Ashowa /Isobey, a Prempeh College aluminus of Sofoline fame in the 1970s. The diminutive and silver-tongued Ashowa popularized what came to be known as ¨Komso¨, which had hitherto been a secret endeavor. Everyone on campus knew what he was up to with his ¨AOS¨ or ¨America Or Suicide¨ slogan.

Some in later years will hail him as their ¨Moses¨ who led them to America and others sometimes derided him in a jest as the ¨Pied Piper of Sofoline¨ who ¨ruined¨ their sixth form days with ¨Komso¨.

Ashowa graduated from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania and worked in the 1980s at Time Inc. as a System Analyst. He will later settle in Ghana as an IT consultant.

He went from one debilitating illness to another since the mid-1980s. Finally, "Ashowa, Wo ama yaree afere¨. He left behind a wife and two daugthers He was 53.

Ashowa, we are sure you had a good run from Adum Presby Elementary through Prempeh College to Swarthmore College and on to the blue chip company, Time Inc. What could a boy from Asaaman ask for? You did it all. Due, Damirifa due; due ene amane hunu. Godspeed.
