Ghanaian media personality Blakk Rasta said Kofi Kinaata has earned his respect following his conduct after the recent accident.
Speaking on 3FM, Blakk Rasta stated that Kinaata handled the situation with utmost maturity and self-control.
Elaborating on his point, Blakk Rasta praised Kinaata for promptly addressing the incident, updating Ghanaians on what happened, and cutting his performance short in solidarity with those affected by the accident.
During the Nkrumah Fest, the event Kofi Kinaata was heading to when the accident occurred, Kinaata, after performing for about 10 minutes addressed the audience, “On our way here, we had an accident in Aboadze. My team and I are perfectly fine, but the other party involved was a young man on a motorbike who is reportedly in critical condition.
"I ask you all to pray for him. I wanted to give my best tonight, but given the incident, I do not want to be seen performing happily."
Blakk Rasta contrasted Kinaata's response with that of LilWin, who, after a similar incident resulting in the death of a child, faced criticism for prioritising his movie launch and promoting himself.
“After performing at the Nkrumah Fest, I was about to leave when I heard that Kofi Kinaata had been involved in an accident. While he was safe, a motorcyclist tragically lost his life. When Kinaata took the stage, I hoped he would request a moment of silence for the young man.
“Instead, he remained hopeful and shared the news with the crowd, emphasising that he didn't want to perform joyfully while a victim was in the hospital. He chose to sing a sorrowful song and left the stage,” he said on his show.
Black Rasta continued, “Kofi Kinaata refused to perform because he was traumatised. In contrast, we recently saw LilWin hit and kill a child while rushing to see a movie, and despite the tragedy, he offered numerous excuses to continue.”
