Founder and Leader of the defunct United Renaissance Party (URP), ‘Chuck’ Kofi Wayo, is of the opinion that the priority with which the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) attaches to the issue of the payment of judgment debts, clearly shows that some elements within the party are in to loot the state through such enterprise.

The outspoken URP leader said it appears majority of government appointees have been compromised wondering why till date none of President Mills’ ministers have stoutly defended him when it comes to matters relating to the abrogation of contracts; the bane of judgement debts.

He surmised that perhaps because they (NDC ministers) have joined the looting brigade are practically scared-stiff of being exposed by members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) members if they are found to be too vocal.

“So, where are the ministers Atta Mills has appointed, why aren’t they talking? Where is the Chief of Staff, why isn’t he talking? Why is the President not getting any defense? What is going on here? Where is the defense team of the president? I mean the people he has appointed… the question is that why are the people he has appointed so quiet?...So where are the NDC ministers, how come they aren’t talking? Or have they participated in the looting and are afraid NPP members would mention their names when they talk?” he furiously asked.

Speaking in an interview on Radio Gold, the maverick politician called on government to impress upon the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) to effect the arrest former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Kwadwo Mpiani, who he claimed are solely responsible for the abrogation of legal contracts which have resulted in liability to the state.

He pointed out that unlike the NDC which is "made up street guys", the NPP has deployed the services of lawyers who have been trained to “lie” to defend them in court.

“The NPP is like the mouse…when they are biting you they blow cool air over the wound. You would never know the damage they have done to you when you are asleep until you wake up. They seem to be winning the propaganda war even when they are the ones who committed the crime,” Kofi Wayo stated.
