Kojo Tsikata Agrees To Testify At NRC

Tue, 11 Nov 2003 Source: Independent

The National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) has subpoenaed Rawlings’ former Security chief, Captain (rtd) Kojo Tsikata and he has accepted to appear and testify before it. The invitation by the NRC is in respect of allegations of conspiracy in the abduction and murder of the three High Court Judges – Justices Cecilia Koranteng Addo, Fred Sarkodie, Kwadwo Adjei Agyapong and a retired Army Officer, Major (rtd) Sam Acquah on June 30, 1982.

The Executive Secretary of the National Reconciliation Commission, Dr Ken Attefuah confirmed the formal invitation. He was however quick to add that the serving of a subpoena on a witness does not always mean that the witness had previously refused to appear before the Commission.

Dr Attefuah would not disclose the situation that necessitated the serving of the subpoena on Rawlings security chief for 10 years, but was emphatic that the outcome of a refusal to comply to any subpoena is always the same – citation for contempt of court followed by prosecution.
