A mentally-deranged man has killed his 55-year-old wife in Konongo, located in the Ashanti Akim Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region, as reported by MyNewsGh.com.
The Konongo Police, led by ASP Luriwie Juah Kanton, visited the crime scene and found the deceased, identified as Mercy Durawaa, lying in a pool of blood in their chamber and hall room.
Police investigators revealed that an inspection of the body showed multiple marks of violence all over, with blood oozing from the right eyebrow.
It was also discovered that items in the room had been scattered, indicating that there was a struggle between the couple before the murder.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Stewards Hospital mortuary in Yawkwei for preservation, pending an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the suspect, Samuel Fiaga, has been arrested and is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations.
