The parties involved in the Peterpan Pizza Case, where the Korean CEO, Mr. Lee Young Gyu, was accused of hitting a Ghanaian employee with hot pizza, have settled matters amicably, bringing closure to the case.

The complainant, Cecelia Ampadu, accused her boss of throwing pizza to her face and filed a report to the Police but upon clarification from the Chief Executive Officer, the parties resolved to settle the issue on Monday 14th March, 2016 at the Airport Police Station.

Mr. Lee Young Gyu, the accused, who indicated that the whole issue was unfortunate, explained that his intention was never to throw the pizza at his employee but that he was trying to throw a small slice of pizza into a dustbin to prevent it from being served to a waiting customer when it regrettably came into contact with Cecilia, as she was entering the kitchen from same direction.

The Korean CEO of the growing food chain noted that he had initially asked his bakers not to serve that particular pizza as it was burnt, but later found out that it had still not been thrown away. In his attempt to throw the pizza into the dustbin, however, the pizza hit Cecelia, who works at the counter and was not even part of the baking of the pizza.

The Airport Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yaw Tetegah confirmed to Oxy FM on Wednesday that upon clarification of the case both parties had settled their differences amicably, adding that the complainant did not sustain any injury per the medical report.
