Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) has officially launched its centenary paraphernalia as part of its 100-year celebration.

The paraphernalia, which includes a variety of items such as brochures, t-shirts, clothes, key holders, mugs, and other souvenirs, is aimed at raising funds to support the hospital's ongoing and future projects, especially the 100-year celebration.

The launch event was spearheaded by Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, the Chief Executive Officer of KBTH, alongside Dr. David Nkansah Dwamina, the Chairman of the KBTH Board.

The event was attended by members of the hospital's board of directors, nurses, and other staff, as well as notable guests.

Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah, addressing the attendees, highlighted the significance of the centenary paraphernalia.

"This paraphernalia is something to mark our centenary and also be a symbol of our collective efforts to move Korle-Bu to the next level.

“It will be something that we can all wear with pride to create that team spirit to motivate us," he stated.

He further emphasized the impact Korle-Bu has had on Ghanaian society.

"Korle-Bu has had a huge impact on every family or every part of our society and we are working hard.

“For our theme for the 100-year celebration is, '100 Years of Excellence and 100 Years of Impacting Lives,' we are not just celebrating but also using the opportunity to reflect on the next 100 years.

“What steps can be taken to make Korle-Bu relevant to provide quality health care?" Dr. Ampomah added.

The significance of Korle-Bu to the community was echoed by Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South Constituency, who was a special guest of honuor for the occasion

“We were born here in Korle-Bu, Korle-Bu has been taking care of us when we are sick, so Korle-Bu being 100 years old means a lot to us.

"I pray that we continue to give the support that Korle-Bu needs so that it will go a long way to support healthcare," he said.
