Korle Bu suspends admissions

...at Surgical/Medical Emergency Unit

Accra, Jan. 6, GNA - The Management of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital announced on Friday that it was suspending admission of new patients at the Surgical/Medical Emergency (SME) Unit for the next 24-48 hours.

"This is to allow the unit to decongest," it said in a statement signed by Mr Mustapha Salifu, Public Relations Officer. It said the unit had been full to such an extent that it had become impossible to admit new patients.

"Patients who require emergency care are therefore advised to seek medical attention at other hospitals and clinics within the metropolis."
