Kumasi, July 6, GNA - In spite of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's directive to residents not to sell land at Kotei, near the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, the sale of plots of land persists.

The residents have therefore made an appeal to the Asantehene to grant them audience to enable them to brief him on the current situation in the town.

Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency in Kumasi on Tuesday, Mr Thomas Adu-Nsiah and Stephen Datu-Amofa, spokespersons for the town, said the people of Kotei are very much disturbed by the unhealthy situation in the town.

"We, therefore, believe that there is no way we can have our problems addressed and grievances resolved than to appeal to you to come to our aid", they said.

They have also appealed to the Asantehene to make public the findings of two committees set up under Nana Boakye Ansah Debrah, Asokore-Mamponghene and Oheneba Kwame Kyeretwie, Apagyahene of Kumasi, to look into the sale of plots and exhumation of corpses buried in the community.
