Ghana Premier League sides Asante Kotoko and King Faisal have been left sweating following the imminent closure of the Baba Yara Sports stadium.
The two teams use the facility for the premier league home matches but the latest development means they will need to find an alternative after the sports ministry decided to close down the facility temporarily with immediate effect.
In a statement released on Monday February 17, the National Sports Authority indicated that the decision to close down the venue is to allow for both the NSA and the MOYS have ample and uninterrupted time to prepare for Ghana’s 63rd Independence Day Celebrations.
The preparations will encompass works to quickly renovate the facility for the purpose stated above after which full renovation works will also commence.
The statement urged users of the facility to find an immediate alternative for their respective programs.
