Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s Deputy Greater Accra Representative, Nana Kwame Dankwah has revealed that Kotoko still has a chance of signing Patrick Razak if, indeed, the club is interested in him.

The club has been strongly linked with the Accra Hearts of Oak winger in the past weeks with Communications Director of the club, Sarfo Duku stating that the player will become a Porcupine Warrior soon.

The player is, however, on the verge of completing a move to Guinean club Horoya FC, a move some football pundits argue has been pushed through by Hearts to stop Kotoko from getting the player.

Nana Kwame Dankwah, in an interview with Class Sports, said signing Razak is still a possibility for Kotoko.

He observed that Kotoko’s desire to sign a player from their archrivals should not be an issue.

“This should not be an issue. Now I’m told the boy is in Guinea and he is going to play for Horoya FC and who knows, Kotoko can even contact Horoya if they will be interested in selling Patrick Razak… But we have not gotten there yet.

“I’m even surprised the way people are taking the whole issue. Kotoko as a club has not written officially to Hearts of Oak to request or ask them to negotiate for the services of Patrick Razak. Just that Kotoko’s PRO spoke on one of the networks and said that very soon people will see Razak playing for the Kotoko,” Nana Kwame Dankwah stated.

He argued that when Sarfo Duku made those comments about Razak, he said the player might be joining Kotoko soon, adding that soon can be anytime and not necessarily immediately.

“I think that we should let sleeping dogs lie and pray for the player to continue his career wherever he finds himself,” Dankwah said.
