The management team of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has changed its earlier decision to appoint Isaac Paha as coach of the club and opted for Emmanuel Kwasi Afranie to take up the coaching position on an interim basis.

Reports indicate that the Board of Directors of the club vetoed a management decision to hire Isaac Paha, a former national team coach.

Afranie is expected to be in charge of the team?s technical affairs until substantive coach Abdul Karim Zito recovers fully from his injuries sustained in an armed attack.

The head of Kotoko?s Public affairs section, Jarvis Preprah told Joy Sports that Afranie has accepted in principle to take up the job, pending the signing of the deal.

?He is being engaged as an interim head coach of the club.? Jarvis told Joy Sports.

?Afranie is suppose to stand in for him (Karim Zito) until he recovers fully. With time we would know what to do.

?He is only coming in as a standing in coach for Zito.? Jarvis told Joy Sports.

Jarvis Prepra confirmed that Kotoko had spoken to a host of coaches but had not concluded talks before 17:00 GMT yesterday.

?It is true we spoke to him (Isaac Paha) but we had not concluded negotiations with any of them.? Jarvis said.

Isaac Paha, a former Black Starlets coach came up tops from a list, which included former player, Ibrahim Sunday, Oko Aryee, Emmanuel Afranie and E.K Edusei.
