Kpone (G/A), Nov. 03, GNA - The Intrinsic Resources Limited (IRL), producers of steel products on Wednesday presented quantities of iron rods, valued at 15 million cedis to the Kpone Traditional Council, as part of its corporate social responsibility towards a community centre project in the town.

Presenting the iron rods, Mr Bernard Kanton, General Manager in charge of Sales and Administration said it was expedient that the company shared the little it had with the people on whose land they operate, as a social fulfilment.

He expressed the company's preparedness to support its immediate communities, saying that, they normally donate to the Kpone Traditional Council during its Homowo celebration.

Mr Kanton recounted that the company donated 100 million cedis as a seed fund in support of the United Nations for victims of natural disaster around the globe.

Mr Nathaniel Nortey, an elder of the Kpone Council received the items and promised that they would be used for the intended purpose. He said so far they have spent about 500 million cedis in the construction of the community centre, which is near completion. He said the centre will have a library, offices and other facilities for social activities.
