Kufuor In Malta For C'wealth summit

Accra, Nov 24, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Wednesday for Valletta, Malta to attend the Commonwealth heads of government meeting (COHGM), which opens on Thursday.

The three-day meeting, which would be opened by Queen Elizabeth II, is under the theme "Networking the Commonwealth for development". Already in Malta is the Foreign Minister Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, who is attending Foreign Ministers meeting as a prelude to the heads of government summit.

Mr Kwabena Adjapong, Presidential Press Secretary and officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied President Kufuor who is expected to hold bilateral talks with some of the leaders attending the summit.

Issues bordering on economic development and security across the globe would also be discussed.

Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama saw off the President and his entourage at the Airport.
