Kufuor Leaves For Liberia On Wednesday

Accra, July 25, GNA - President Mr John Agyekum Kufuor would leave for Monrovia on Wednesday as Special Guest of Honour at the National Day Celebration of the Republic of Liberia.

A statement signed by Jefferson Kwamina Sackey, Media Relations Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said President Kufuor would be accompanied by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo some Members of Parliament and other government officials.

The President with Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf would inaugurate the first phase of the power restoration project. The Government of Ghana through the Volta River Authority with funding from the European Union restored electricity to key installations in the Liberian capital, Monrovia.
Liberia has been without electricity for over a decade following a protracted civil war.

It said the President Kufuor and his delegation would return on the same day.
