Accra, Aug. 13, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Monday granted audience to two separate delegations, at the Castle, Osu. Togo's President Faure Gnassingbe sent the first delegation, which was headed by Prime Minister Agboyibo Yaovi.
They were at the Castle to thank President Kufuor for his personal efforts at ensuring the promotion of multi-party democracy in Togo and to discuss bilateral issues.
President Kufuor said Ghana saw Togo as a sister country and therefore the need to give it whatever support that was necessary. Professor Couaovi A.L. Johnson, Secretary to the AU Commission, led a three-member delegation to consult with the AU Chairman on the implementation of the Accra Summit Declarations.
The AU's Assembly of Heads of State and Government was held in Ghana from July 1-3 in Accra. Topmost on the agenda was the Grand Debate on the roadmap for the Union of African Government.
President Kufuor expressed the hope they would have a successful consultation.
