A senior member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party, Felix Owusu Agyepong, says former President Kufuor has been put in a tight corner in relation to attending President Mahama’s inauguration on Monday.

The party has given Mr. Kufuor the chance to be part of the ceremony as a statesman and a former President of the republic.

But the Former Majority Leader Felix Owusu Agyepong in an interview with XYZ News said earlier reports by the media claiming Mr. Kufuor was against the party’s Supreme Court action to challenge the election results and his subsequent denial of the reports puts him between a rock and a hard place.

He said President Kufuor must walk a tight rope in simultaneously satisfying his party’s decision to boycott the ceremony while showing statesmanship at the same time as far as attending the inauguration ceremony is concerned.

Some section of the media have created some problems for the big man, some of the media people said President Kufuor was not interested in the NPP suit then he had to get his office to issue a statement that it wasn’t true so that puts him in a very tight corner.

Now he has to be very careful about what he decides and now the problem has been created by our own recommendations.

Meanwhile, the office of the Former President has confirmed that John Agyekum Kufuor will attend the inauguration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama at the Independence Square on Monday, 7th January following an invitation he had received from the state.
