Kufuor leaves for trilateral talks in Liberia

Accra, Feb 24, GNA - Former President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra last night for Monrovia, Liberia, for talks on how the United States and China are contributing to Africa's development.

A statement signed by the former President's Spokesperson, Mr Frank Agyekum, said the three-day talks, initiated by the Leon H Sullivan Foundation of the US, is to examine how two of the world's economic giants, the US and China, are helping Africa to advance economically and socially. Former President Kufuor, a member of the Board of Governors of the Foundation, will address the meeting together with Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.

About 100 delegates including business executives, academicians, analysts and policy makers from around the world will attend the meeting and they will discuss Africa's integration into the global economy, agricultural development and strengthening the continent's health sector. The delegates will also share experiences from across the world on best practices in corporate social responsibility and how this could impact on Africa's development. Former President Kufuor is expected back on Thursday, February 25.
