Kufuor makes changes to duty posts of Ambassadors

Accra, March 13, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has made changes to the duty post locations of some Ghanaian Ambassadors and High Commissioners, his Press Secretary, Mr Kwabena Agyepong, announced at a Castle briefing on Monday.

Mr Kwadwo Wadee, former Ambassador to Angola now moves to Libya; Mr Kabral Blay-Amihere assumes duty in Cote d'Iviore from Sierra-Leone; Mrs Maureen Amametekpor leaves Namibia to Denmark while Mr Emmanuel Kwadwo Adu has been reassigned to Benin from Denmark. The others are Mr Baah Boakye moves from Zimbabwe to Angola and Mr John Bentum-Williams has been re-posted to India from Malaysia. Mr Kobina Annan, Ambassador to Morocco, Professor Albert Owusu-Sarpong, Ambassador to France and Dr Barfour Adjei-Barwuah, Ambassador in Japan have, however, been retained in their respective countries of accreditation.

Mr Agyepong said the President would make further changes in due course. He also touched on the historic gold medal won by Ghana's Ignatius Gaisah at the International Amateur Athletics Federation World Indoor Event in Moscow, Russia, and said President Kufuor was delighted by his achievement. "He has made the country proud by his good showing and it is the hope of his Excellency the President that he would do well at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia", he said.
