Kufuor promotes CDS

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has promoted the Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General J.B. Danquah to the rank of Lieutenant-General with immediate effect.

Accra, Sept. 22, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor has promoted the Chief of Defence Staff, Major-General J.B. Danquah to the rank of Lieutenant-General with immediate effect. An official statement signed by Mr Kwabena Agyepong, Press Secretary to the President, said the promotion was effected by President Kufuor based on powers conferred on him by the Constitution. The President is the Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
