Reports reaching the NATIONAL DEMOCRAT indicate that in the U.S, the FBI has also been tasked to place surveillance on Ghanaian delegations, politicians and diplomats wielding diplomatic passports who come to the U.S for official duties.
These directives come in the wake of the arrest of heroine baron, Hon. Eric Amoateng and an accomplice, Nii Okai Adjei, in New York for allegedly smuggling 136kg of heroine valued at $6 million into that country.
Futher reports indicates that the perception that some politicians, members of government and diplomats from Ghana are taking advantage of their diplomatic passports to smuggle large quantities of illicit drugs, especially cocaine and heroine, into those countries has been crystallized with the busting of the NPP MP.
