Former Minister of Youth and Sports and MP for Ningo-Prampram, Mr Enoch T Mensah described the President's State of the Nation Address to Parliament, as "containing nothing new and unimpressive".

Mr Mensah said this in an interview with the GNA in Parliament soon after President Kufuor had delivered the Address, which drew prolonged applause from the House.

"I was not impressed with the address by the President, because he did not touch on pertinent issues which his government initiated. All the achievements he mentioned were all started by the NDC."

Mr Mensah mentioned the Stadium disaster as one of the areas Government failed to address because "four years after the disaster, the real culprits have not been apprehended and the Committee set up to compensate the victims has not been transparent.

"Another area the Government failed to address was the Dagbon crisis, up to date no one has been arrested or apprehended." Mr Mensah said almost the entire road projects the President mentioned especially, the Accra - Aflao, Accra - Yamoransa projects were designed and initiated by the NDC Government.

"The President failed to credit us with the work we initiated and even took credit for the GetFund, which the NDC Government started and is being mismanaged by the present Government." 04 Jan. 05
