Mr J.A. Kufuor, the 1996 Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken swipes at the First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings for calling him a "Satan". In an obvious reaction to a statement attributed to Nana Konadu at the inauguration of the Young Traders' Association of Ghana (YTAG) in Accra recently, Mr Kufuor denied ever being dismissed by the PNDC government as claimed by the First Lady. Worked up by Nana Konadu's unwarranted verbal attack on him, Mr Kufuor has shot back saying what the First Lady said was untrue about his flirtation with the Rawlings government at the beginning of the 31st December Revolution. He said it was regrettable that Nana Konadu has now lost the sense of limitation and responsibility in her public pronouncement and is now suffering from "diarrhoea of the tongue."
