Kufuor wishes Stars well

Former Ghana President John Kufuor has sent a goodwill message to the Black Stars ahead of their Group G opener against USA, a release signed by Frank Agyekum, spokesperson to the ex-President has said.

The statement said, “The can-do spirit of the Ghanaian has carried you this far. At each of your two previous outings at the World Cup, the biggest stage for football on the globe, you have endeared yourself to all with your high display of footballing ability and sportsmanship.”

It added, “This has made you one of the favourites in the tournament and the world expects no less a display from you as you make your third consecutive appearance at the World Cup event.

“I urge you to be fearless and match your opponents ‘boot-for-boot’. Always have the glory of the nation at heart and play for victory. Good luck.”
