Kumasi was brought down to tears as thousands of sympathizers came out to pay their last respects to one of Ghana's most credible scholars, Khalifa Ustaz Ali Adam Al-Amir (Hujjatul Islam) the third successor of Sheikh Ahmed Babal-Waiz a prolific Ghanaian Islamic Scholar and writer with about 39 books.

All principal roads leading to the Tafo cemetery were blocked as his remains in Brown coffin covered with a green mantle inscribed with Islamic sayings were carried to his last destination.

During his lifetime, Khalifa Ustaz Ali Adam Al - Amir served as a pool of knowledge and guidance to the Muslim community in Kumasi. He was known for his great knowledge in translating the Holy Qur'an (Tafseer) and the Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh).

Khalifa Ali breathed his last morning Tuesday, 4 December 2018 at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital after battling with illness for a while and was since buried according to Islamic Doctrine

Until his death, Khalifa Ustaz Ali Adam Al - Amir served as the third successor of Sheikh Baba Al-Waiz for eight years and two months, where he was the leader and spearheaded the religious activities of the Al-Wataniya an Islamic institution founded by Baba Al-Waiz in Kumasi.

“Khalifa Ali is a unifier, he unified us all and put us a path of righteousness,” said, Jamaludeen Bala Sa’ad.

“He was a man of his promise, a father, husband, teacher, brother, and friend he will forever remain in the cubicle of our heart, His is a life well lived” Added Jamaludeen Bala Sa’ad the PRO of the Maryamiya Family of whom Khalifa Ali belongs.

Social media has since been flooded with words of praise about him.

“USTAZ ALI ADAM AMIR is a classic example of a life well lived and well led. He impacted society. Everyone who knew him will attest to this. Society misused him.” Posted Manaf Ibrahim a seasoned politician on his facebook wall.

“Uztaz Ali lived a wonderful life. He was selfless and had Islam at heart. One of the few Islamic scholars in Ghana who never had problems with anyone. He was a Muslim, a Moomin. On several occasions, he served as the link between the Sunnah and Tijaaniya in Kumasi.” Editor 442GH Tophic Abdul Kadir Sienu posted on his facebook wall



He left behind a wife and five children. He has served his creator; it is time for him to rest.
