Kwabre Assembly Gets New Administration Block

Mamponteng, (Ash), Sept 3, The Kwabre District Assembly in Ashanti yesterday received the keys to its new administration block built at the cost of 340 million cedis. The keys were handed over by Nana Anthony Opoku, Managing director o f De Porres limited, to Mr Kwame Ampong, the Kwabre District Chief Executive ( DCE) after inspecting the project. The project which was pre-financed by the contractor took two years to complete. Receiving the keys, Mr Jacob Larh Addo, the Ashanti Regional consult ant of the AESL commended the contractor for his efforts to complete the project in spite of financial difficulties. Mr Kwame Ampong who also commended the contractor, said part of the block would be used to house some of the decentralised departments while others like the police, fire service, agriculture ministry and electoral commission will use the old o ffices of the assembly. He said a lot of money has gone into the project adding that he woul d see to it that good care is taken of the building and the facilities and ensu re their maintenance. Nana Opoku said he was ready to extend water supply to the place whe n the Ghana Water and Sewerage Corporation extension project is completed.
