Mamponteng (Ash), Oct 29, GNA- Nana Asante Frempong, the Member of Parliament for Kwabre, has called on metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies to be guided by the demands of communities in the distribution of projects.

He said if the assemblies fail to provide projects chosen by the communities the people will not patronise facilities provided them. Nana Asante Frempong was contributing to the executive committee's report at the Assembly's meeting at Mamponteng regarding the construction of markets at Ahwiaa, Ntonso and Adanwomase.

The people of Adanwomase are refusing to patronise the market because they claim it is far away from the town and has poor drainage. Somee traders at Ntonso have also refused to use the market and prefer to trade in front of their houses.

There is controversy about the ownership of the Ahwiaa market with the traders claiming ownership.

The MP said assemblies should as much as possible focus on communities that initiate their own projects instead of citing projects in communities that have not asked for them.

Alhaji Ahmed Akwasi Yeboah, Kwabre District Chief Executive, said the development agenda of the assembly is on course and projects initiated by the assembly are nearing completion.

He appealed to the assembly members to help the administration to collect more taxes for the development of the district. Members called on the administration to let members be aware of projects coming to their areas so that they could contribute.
