The Kwabre West Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared 10 days of mourning for the late Member of Parliament (MP), Mr. Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu Ansah.

The party has also suspended all political activities and directed its zonal coordinators to shut down the party’s offices and hoist red flags.

Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, the Constituency Chairman said during the period, the members and supporters of the party would wear mourning clothes.

This was after a meeting of the constituency executives, zonal officers, polling station executives and some assembly members at Kodie.

Odeneho Appiah said the death of the MP had come to them as a big shock and that the greatest tribute they could pay to his memory was to unite and work hard to retain the seat for the party.

Mr. William Aidoo, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the area, said the deceased MP used his last days to bring all members of the party together for the single-minded goal of achieving resounding electoral victory in the 2012 elections.

The Reverend Mrs Esther Anane, Minister In-charge of the Kodie Methodist Church, reminded the people “to walk in the Lord and let their actions and activities reflect the will of God.”

This would help to promote peace and make the December polls peaceful.**
