Thieves and robbers are reportedly cashing in on the masses of people gathered at Kwahu Mountains where the annual Easter activities, including the paragliding, are ongoing.
Hundreds of celebrants from all walks of life are in Kwahu to partake in this year’s Easter activities.
Despite the heavy security presence, reports indicate that some of the participants have so far been robbed of their belongings including money, mobile phones and iPads.
The Spokesperson for the Kwahu Development Association, Kingsley Young Opare in an interview with Citi News said: “There are incidents of robbery that we have reported to the Police and they are beefing up security and changing their strategy.”
According to him, the thieves carried out their operations in isolated communities near the mountains where the victims were robbed on their way home.
Kingsley Opare however commended the security personnel in the area for doing a good job, so far, on the ground.
