As part of efforts to help reduce the mortality rate of babies born prematurely, the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation is appealing for support to fund its “Project 100 Incubators”.

According to available statistics, more than 8,000 out of the about 140,000 children born premature in Ghana every year die before 30 days.

To this effect, the Kokrokoo Foundation, founded by host of Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show, Kwami Sefa Kayi, initiated the “Project 100 Incubators” in 2014 to raise funds through individuals and corporate organisations to procure 100 incubators for health facilities across the country so as to avert infant deaths recorded at these facilities.

Through the social intervention project, infant incubators have been installed at hospitals including; Nsawam Government Hospital, the La General Hospital, Police Hospital and the Prestea Government Hospital in the Western Region.

The project is being executed through the partnership of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners (IHRMP).

In order to fully realise its goal, the foundation is calling on individuals and corporate organisations to support the project by donating not less than GHC5 to the fund.

“We need your support so pick up your phone and make that call. Dial 3322 and for GHC5 you will be contributing to a worthy course,” Kwami Sefa Kayi appealed.
