Kwesi Nyantakyi denies receiving $65k from Sheikh in Anas video

Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi has vehemently denied receiving $65,000 from a Sheikh “for shopping” as shown in the documentary film by Tiger Eye PI.

Mr Nyantakyi, who has been banned for all football activities by FIFA, says he parted away with an entitled $40,000 for trips he pre-financed to Qatar.

In a statement on Monday to tell his side of the story, Mr Nyantakyi said the video was voiced over about the shopping episode.

“A critical review of the video clip will reveal that when the money was handed to me, there was no mention of shopping.

“A different video has a voice emerging from a faceless speaker saying ‘shopping for now’.

“This insertion of an overriding voice was clearly an afterthought.”
