Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has called on President John Dramani Mahama to sack some of his advisers and ministers for lying to him about the energy situation.

Such persons, Kwesi Pratt said include ministers and advisers who have made it a habit to continually ill-advise the President on the power situation.

Since the power crisis began over three years ago, several deadlines offered by the President and his ministers including the recent April 2015 deadline have not been met.

With the President not an energy expert, Kwesi Pratt, speaking on Peace FM said it would not be out of place for advisers and ministers surrounding the President to be questioned on why they keep misinforming the President.

“Why are the people still at post, if you mislead the President you have to go home, no two ways about it…that is what would make people know that this is a serious time and no one would be forgiven for mistakes…,” he said.

He further expressed regret about President Mahama’s failure to axe these persons claiming it is not the best to continue to use the services of persons with deceitful tongues.

“They must not continue to be at post…however under the current situation, they remain at post after making the mistakes….why and why?” he asked repeatedly.

The 'lies' being told by these unnamed advisers to the President, he lamented, have travelled beyond the boundaries of Ghana as they led President Mahama to make an avoidable mistake at a United Nations General Assembly meeting.

“Mahama said during a speech at UN General Assembly that Hazbollah was a terrorist organization and this was a lie because it’s the second biggest political party in Palestine…I think the Speaker of Parliament even comes from the party…why should this be so?” he quizzed.

The several blunders by ‘so many persons in sensitive positions in government,’ he said, convinces him that there are certain persons in the current government who wish the NDC goes to opposition.

The recent controversial May Day speech by President Mahama, he added, all add to his suspicions as 'I never saw the need for the inclusion of the statement that businesses laying off workers in the dumsor era are not being smart'.

“So couldn’t the President have delivered the speech without referring to smartness or otherwise of businesses…where from this smartness…?” he asked rhetorically.

The unhappy Kwesi Pratt, therefore, tasked President Mahama to save his government by doing away with such ill advisers. “I am begging you Mr President, the time is due for you to sack some of these persons who have and are still continuing to damage your administration…,” he said.
