Lawyer Philip Fiifi Buckman, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Kwesimintsim Constituency in the Western Region has adopted strenuous campaign against COVID-19 pandemic.
He says, since the first case of the virus was reported in Ghana, the trajectory of events doesn’t look good and should not be underestimated by all Ghanaians.
He, has, therefore, urged his constituents to rally behind health authorities in the country to defeat the deadly virus which has already claimed nine lives in Ghana.
As part of the campaign, the aspiring Member of Parliament has distributed locally made nose masks to over two hundred drivers at Kwesimintsim.
Already, the lawyer has supported institutions in the Constituency with alcoholic-based sanitizers, Veronica buckets, soaps and other hygiene products.
These institutions include hospitals, markets, and other vital communal places where human gatherings require constant washing of hands.
Speaking in an interview with GhanaWeb's Western Regional Correspondent, the Lawyer said he believes Kwesimintsim cannot absolve from the fight against COVID-19 since the battle remains a collective responsibility that Ghanaians, in general, must embrace.
According to him, the number of cases being recorded in the country should serve as wakeup call on citizens to begin to take charge of the global campaign against the virus.
He advised the drivers to observe social distancing protocol in their cars.
He pledged to continue to provide preventive items to the good people of the area to protect themselves against the deadly Coronavirus.
Ghana has so far, recorded 1,154 confirmed cases with 9 deaths of Coronavirus.
