As the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race campaign deepens, some aspirants' supporters are alleged to have adopted illegal means by destroying and stealing banners of Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyeremanten.

The former Minister of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development and PSI is a strong contender in the NPP race.

Mr. Kyeremanten's campaign team had spread ten banners of his portrait at vantage points in the Kumasi Metropolis to market the candidate.

This was done a few hours after the news broke out that the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice had cleared the former Minister of allegations of financial improprieties brought against him.

The Ashanti Regional Coordinator for Alan Kyeremanten's campaign, Mr. Joseph Amoah, told the Daily Dispatch that in less than 24 hours, out of the ten banners which they had registered with the KMA, four had been stolen and others torn and destroyed.

The colourful portraits with the inscription "ALAN KYEREMANTEN: ADWUMA WURA", are the first banners seen in the metropolis among the about 18 aspirants for the NPP flagbearship.

Mr. Amoah who is also CEO of Love Enterprise, expressed unhappiness about the illegal style or methods adopted by other aspirants supporters.

It is his conviction that some supporters of the aspirants can no longer stand Alan's campaign strategies hence "their cowardice style". "I don't think it is NDC supporters or sympathisers who are stealing and destroying our banners. It could rather be any of the NPP aspirants' supporters who are not authorized by their candidates or aspirants…"

Mr. Amoah reminded the other aspirants and their supporters that the flagbearship race is not a do and die affair. They should therefore desist from all illegal means of destroying others’ campaign materials. He gave the assurance that no one can intimidate the Alan Kyeremanten Campaign team.
