Secretary to the Vice President, Maame Ama Pratt believes the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill raises broader national questions that extend beyond the immediate political debate.

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, she said the discussion involves fundamental issues about Ghana's constitutional governance, human rights framework, cultural identity, and international obligations.

"For me, for an issue like this that affects our constitutional governance, it goes to the heart of our constitutional governance," she said.

Pratt noted that the conversation also concerns how Ghana balances domestic values with international conventions it has signed onto.

She described the bill as one of the most significant public policy discussions in recent years because of the strong emotions and public interest it has generated.

According to her, the country must carefully consider not only what position it takes but also how that position aligns with Ghana's constitutional and democratic principles.

She argued that the complexity of the issue requires thoughtful engagement from all stakeholders rather than rushed conclusions.
