The highly-anticipated investigative documentary by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, will finally be aired today.
Titled, ‘When Greed and Corruption Become the Norm’ the documentary which has come to be known as as ‘Number 12’ will expose the extent of rot in Ghana football.
According to Tiger EyePI, the investigative piece will show “how that [corruption at the Ghana Football Association] contributes to preventable tragedies, corruption within top national sports management and its effect on the country’s reputation on the global stage.”
The documentary, which has generated much controversy Accra at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) today, Wednesday, June 6, 2018, and Tuesday, June 7, 2018. There will be four sets of screenings each day: 3 pm, 5 pm, 8 pm and 10 pm.
The close to two-hour documentary also depicts how 77 Ghanaian referees allegedly took bribes to influence their decisions in football matches.
According to the documentary, six officials of the National Sports Authority have been caught on video entering into visa deals.
Another 14 officials of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) are captured on video taking various sums in bribe to engage in match fixing.
Some big shots in Ghana football are also seen negotiating deals to influence the outcome of games of football.
Shocking scenes will be played out to football fans who had suffered heartaches in matches they watched in the past.”
