LIVESTREAMED: Information Ministry's press conference ahead of partial lockdown

The Ministry of Information held a press conference to clarify lockdown orders.

On Saturday, the Ministry of Information in its resolve to ensure effectiveness of the lockdown directive urged all to reach out to the outfit for a clarification on the orders.

"If you have a specific question that needs clarification, please send to us as a comment on this thread. The Ministry will provide answers at our Sunday briefing," the ministry stated.

Updating the press on Sunday, March 29, Presidential Advisor for Health, Dr Nsiah-Asare disclosed that Ghana has enough test kits at the moment and adds that; "Nobody should be worried about it. We will come to your homes and test you."

Chief Executive of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyeman on his part said all hotels can operate as normal and host their guests during the partial lockdown.

He adds that; drinking bars and nightclubs must, however, remain closed within the lockdown period.

"Food chains and restaurants must do only pickup and delivery services," Akwasi Agyeman said.

For food vendors, the Minister of Infomation, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah said all persons who trade in the food value chain are exempted from the lockdown.

"Your waakye, and kenkey joints are allowed to open but you are not allowed to sit there and eat," he said.
