The main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) is addressing a press conference on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, over the alleged active out-of-court interference of the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice in a high-profile financial crime trial.
The NDC since last Friday, accused A-G Godfred Dame of unethical and unprofessional conduct when the third accused person (Richard Jakpa) in the ambulance purchase trial alleged in court that the AG had meetings with him on how to implicate the first accused.
The third accused claimed the A-G wanted his cooperation to jail Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
The NDC has, therefore, as promised, dedicated its Moment of Truth press conference to provide its incontrovertible evidence of the A-G's misdeeds.
The A-G has serially denied any wrongdoing despite admitting having met the said accused person at the home of a Supreme Court Justice in an unplanned manner.
He also admits that the issue of a plea-bargain proposal Jakpa had submitted but that was rejected by the state was discussed, in the absence of Jakpa's lawyers.
