LIVESTREAMED: One-week commemoration of Professor Plange-Rhule at College of Physicians and Surgeons

A virtual one-week commemoration has been held for the late former rector of the Ghana College of Physician and Surgeons, Prof. Jacob Plange-Rhule who died on Friday morning, April 10, at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

As per demands of the existing health crisis, the one-week commemoration was held online for family, friends and sympathizers to pay their last respect to the late medical practitioner.

The professor’s death which shook the pulse of the medical fraternity was attributed to the novel coronavirus.

Professor Plange-Rhule had extensive experience in research, particularly, among populations of African origin, in the fields of hypertension, cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular disease epidemiology.

Meanwhile, at least 5 frontline health practitioners including a doctor have contracted the virus in line of duty amidst calls by a section of front liners demanding that government increase the supply of personal protective equipment.
