The Supreme Court of Ghana is currently hearing a case regarding the passage of the anti-LGBT+ bill into law.
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the Parliament of Ghana passed the Promotion of Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, also known as the Anti-LGBT+ Bill.
Although the anti-gay bill seems to have the support of the majority of Ghanaians, some prominent civil society organizations and individuals have raised concerns about the bill and have called for it not to be signed into law in its current form.
The hearing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, is being presided over by the Chief Justice of Ghana, Gertrude Torkornoo.
