The Minister for Food and Agriculture is currently addressing the press at the Ministry of Information’s Conference Hall in Accra.
The Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie-Akoto, among other things, is making public the policies and projects his outfit is embarking on to improve the country’s agriculture sector.
He says government has taken steps to address challenges in the sector including bringing under control the invasion of Fall Army Worms and other attractive projects that can lure the youth to venture into agriculture.
In the bid to promote high domestic production and increase crop yield, government, according to the Minister is also building centers where seeds can be processed and preserved to reduce losses incurred by farmers, particularly those into cocoa cultivation.
