The Presentation of the Constitutional Instrument for the Creation of the Bono East Region is currently underway at the Jubilee House in Accra.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to present the Constitutional Instruments to give legal backing for the creation of six new regions in the country, which began with the Instrument for the Creation of the North East Region yesterday.
This follows the December 27, 2018 referendum where residents within the catchment areas of the proposed new regions voted to give an overwhelming endorsement for the creation of the regions.
The CI is expected to among other things name the selected capital towns of the regions.
The new regions are Western North, Ahafo, Bono East, Oti, North East, and Savannah.
The North East and Savannah regions received their constitutional instruments on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
The president is expected to present the CIs for the Bono East and Ahafo Regions Today, Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
