Dr Bawumia is submitting his nomination to contest the NPP flagbearer position on January 31
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 presidential election, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is set to submit his nomination to contest the party’s flagbearer race scheduled for January 31, 2026.
On Wednesday, August 13, 2025, approximately 400 NPP youth organisers picked up nomination forms on behalf of Dr Bawumia to contest the party’s flagbearer position for the 2028 presidential election.
Led by key party members, including former government appointees and current and former Members of Parliament, Dr Bawumia is on Thursday, August 28, 2025, concluding his filing process by officially submitting his nomination forms.
Support for Bawumia swells as Central Region NPP group join endorsements
The former vice president is also expected to address party faithful who have thronged the NPP’s national headquarters at Adabraka after his submission.
