The Supreme Court this week dismissed a suit brought against it challenging the constitutionality of the processes leading to the creation of new regions in the country. The result is that only residents of affected areas will be allowed to vote. 50% of natives are to turn up at the polling centres with 80% of them voting for the creation of the region as a requirement for the successful creation of regions. Despite the ruling, there are still some lingering issues that have been the centre of discussion in the course of the week. These issues will be discussed on Newfile today.
Also up for discussion is the intermittent power outages being experienced in some parts of the country. The Energy Minister, Peter Amewu has taken responsibility for the outages which he blamed largely n huge debts in the sector.
