The recent spate of kidnappings in the Western Region will be one of the topics that will dominate discussions in this week's edition of Newsfile. So far, four ladies in Tarkoradi has been reported kidnapped by the police over the past 5 months. Families of these girls accuse the Police and security agencies of doing little to get back the girls since the cases were reported.

The police have arrested a Nigerian who is suspected to be involved in the whole scheme but believe he isn't acting alone. The suspect has refused to cooperate with the Police in the Western Region. The disturbing development in the Western Region comes at several reports of alleged serial killings have been reported calling into question the competencies of the Security Services in the country.

Also to be talked about during the programme is the enskinment of a new Ya-Naa of Dagbang. The Dagbang Kingdom has been without a king for close to two decades after succession disputes arose in 2002.

The disputes have been lingering for close to four decades stemming from age-old disagreements. The media was led by the Eminent Chiefs chaired by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and constituted by Former President Kufuor in 2002. The enskinment of the new king was attended by political leaders from all sides of the divide, The President and Chiefs and Rulers from other parts of the country.
