The first edition of Joynews’ news analysis show for the year 2019 promises to be interesting and insightful particularly with all the fallouts from the various crossover services, prophecies, and subsequent attacks.

As usual, most watchnight services on the 31st of December were characterized by prophecies about the New Year; 2019.

At Rev. Isaac Owusu Bempah’s, Glorious Word Ministries, like always, the atmosphere was charged as the congregation received prophecy after prophecy from the renowned man of God.

Many of those were about prominent personalities and statesmen in the country. Ex-presidents, musicians, and religious leaders were all highlighted in the predictions on the night.

Controversy however, was not the only thing this year’s prophecies at the Glorious Word Church sparked, chaos also featured as several irate youth, purported to be Muslim besieged the premises of the church two days after to destroy properties. This attracted security at the place as police personnel tried to restore calm and prevent any further destruction.

Whiles panelists are likely to focus on these issues as part of discussions in today’s edition, the subject of turbulence in the banking sector may also feature.

Most banks have had to merge and or breakdown in recent times following the Bank of Ghana’s instruction to meet the new minimum capital or face specific sanctions.

Most recent to join the fray is Heritage and Bank Premium which had their operating licenses revoked and merged with Consolidated Bank Ghana Limited.

Groupe Nduom's GN Bank has also been downgraded by the Central Bank into a savings and loans company.
