Members of the Coalition for Social Justice have been joined by many others from all walks of life to participate in the “Kum Yen Preko” demonstration to register their displeasure over what they term as severe hardship, insecurity in the country.
Members of the group are unhappy with several attacks on journalists which they say is an attack on media freedom.
Several groups which include the Minority caucus in Parliament, the Greater Accra Market Women Association, the Concerned Drivers Union, True Drivers Union, Free Media Vanguard, the Coalition for National Sovereignty, disgruntled MenzGold customers and unpaid customers of Gold Coast Fund Management have joined the demonstration.
Demonstrators who converged at the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange this morning are expected to move through Farisco, Cocobod Head Office, Okaishie, Makola, High Street and end at the Hearts Park around 12:00 noon, where various speakers will take turns to address the demonstrators on some of the pertinent issues that have necessitated the demonstration.
