Labourer defiles four year old

Accra, Nov. 26, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Friday remanded a labourer in prison custody for defiling a four-year-old girl. The accused, Kwame Ibrahim pleaded not guilty to the charge and is to re-appear on November 29.

Prosecutor Chief Inspector E. T. Boison told the Court the victim lives with her Auntie, who is the complainant while the accused lives in the same vicinity.

On November 15, this year, the Complainant left the victim for the market but could not find her on her returned.

One Andrew, a six-year-old boy, who also lives in the vicinity informed the complainant, that the accused brought the victim into her mother's provision shop and bought toffee for her. A charcoal seller in the vicinity also informed the complainant that she saw the accused walking with the victim.

The complainant went to the accused house but did not find him. Later, she found the victim crying with some toffees in her hand. The victim told the auntie the accused lured her into a nearby bush and defiled her.

After examining the victim, the complainant raised the alarm and with the help of others Ibrahim was arrested and sent to the Madina Police Station.

Police medical forms were issued to the victim for examination and treatment. The case was later transferred to the Women and Juvenile Unit of the Police.

At the Court the victim kept urinating onto her mother's lap.
